The journey is part of the adventure...
There are a number of exciting new ways to access Knoydart with several operators operating crossings to and from Knoydart, Skye and further afield. A new service has also opened up offering weekend crossings making Knoydart an available and cost effective way to visit for short breaks, weekend trips and last minute adventures. A late evening and early morning shuttle water taxi services Knoydart during the week out with our local ferry times and this is extended from Easter onwards to several crossings a day on Saturdays and Sundays.
Alternatively, if you cannot work in with ferry times, private boat hire may be an option. The following boat operators, listed in alphabetical order, offer boat hire. Generally, a trip from Mallaig to Inverie will cost in the order of £70 although price can depend on numbers and luggage. Many of the boats will also offer charters further afield. You may wish to check that operators and their vessels are licensed and coded (we believe they are at present June '10).
If you are wanting to come to Knoydart from Skye all our local operators will offer a charter sevice however there is also a Skye based operator who runs charters to Knoydart direct.
